- Performing the duties of a Structural Shipfitter daily.
- Job duties include but are not limited to measuring, laying out, cutting, grinding, forming and drilling of assorted materials (aluminum, steel, stainless, gasket, rubber, screen, etc.).
- Works from Engineering drawings, sketches and written and verbal instructions.
- Reading from computer screens to retrieve work instructions, blueprints or other documents
- Maintains records, forms and logs as required.
- Typical tools and equipment used in the performance of duties are: MIG and TIG welders, manual hand tools, mechanical, pneumatic, cordless and electric tools including porta power, come a long, clamps, hammers and mauls, gougers, grinders, saws, band saws, drills, tapes and scales.
- Must be capable of handling chemicals and solvents including alcohol, cleaning solvents, cutting oil, tool oil, etc.
- Housekeeping of shop and work area (keeping work area neat and clean) daily.

About This Role
Performs Quality Engineering assignments requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard Quality Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment and ingenuity in making adaptations and modifications. Work with a test Engineering team in the validation of test requirements from Test Readiness assessment thru Test support and observation, and Test validation and reporting. Work is performed on moderately complex contracts requiring independent execution within a defined set of skills or knowledge area. The Quality Engineer supports product design activities, planning for quality, production and test activities, data analysis and development of metrics, root cause and corrective action, and process and product improvement.

About This Role
The Marine Systems business is seeking a Subcontract Project Manager for the New Orleans, LA location. The Project Manager will own a subset of acquisitions for a major defense program, under the supervisor of a Sr. Subcontracts Manager, and work within a highly collaborative and dynamic Marine Systems SCM & Program Office.
This role requires excellent organization, teamwork, and communication skills to ensure supplier program execution that meets mission objectives. A successful candidate in this role will be action-oriented, have strong written and verbal communication, and exhibit a team mentality.
Responsibilities:
The Subcontract Project Manager will have responsibilities including but not limited to the following:
· Partnering with Program Mgt to consolidate subcontractor contractual requirements and specifications into accurate comprehensive requests for proposal (RFP) prior to the issuance of RFPs to prospective subcontractors.
· Examining bid responses and initiating cost and pricing analysis using results thereof combined with program objectives to develop negotiation strategy and negotiate price, terms and work scope.
· Negotiating, placing, and managing of complex, high dollar subcontracts within a government acquisition environment, including both cost and fixed price material and service type subcontracts.
· Originating formal subcontract documents and coordinating inputs and approvals from both functional and programmatic leadership stakeholders including all pertinent government Federal Acquisition Regulation requirements when applicable.
· Understanding the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and critical path for the supplier subset of the program and executing any mitigation efforts to ensure on-time / early completion of tasking.

· Monitoring subcontractor performance, identifying issues early on to implement corrective actions with the Supplier Development team

- Plays an integral part of product Integrated Product Teams (IPT) by effectively interfacing with internal customers on a daily basis, schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
- Assists management in the development and execution of action/ workaround plans for assigned products/value streams to maximize scheduled on-time completion. Analyzes supply and demand data and reports to determine critical path constraints. Performs product lead time analysis.

About This Role
The Sr. Manager Supply Chain will lead a team of subcontract specialists to enable the negotiation and execution of complex subcontracts with major suppliers and ensure oversight of the supply base. This position further serves as the Military Crewed Land Vehicle, domain supply chain lead with direct support responsibility to the domain program leadership. Customer relationship management and supply chain execution are key measures for this position, all with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the supply chain lead to the Crewed Land Family of Vehicle domain programs. Engage in regular communications, attend program reviews, and provide supply chain feedback on items of program importance or concern (e.g. risky suppliers and mitigation, delivery status, cost growth concerns, parts misaligned to need by dates, among others).
- Coordinate and align with other supply chain resources/functions to meet customer objectives. (Supplier Development Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Sourcing Engineering, Data Analytics, Tactical Procurement). Escalate issues as identified and drive to closure.
- Lead improvement projects internally within the Supply Chain Team and within the Supply Base to reduce costs, improve quality, reduce supplier lead times, and increase business confidence in supplier delivery performance.
- Provide regular reports to supply chain and program leadership regarding subcontract status, supplier performance, risks/mitigations, and associated supply chain metrics.
- Develop, coach, and manage subcontract specialists and monitor employee performance to goals. Use data analytics and standard tools to measure and monitor subcontract placement and supplier management/performance. Enforce and improve on standard work and cadences. Monitor SC exception reports.
- Maintain knowledge of domain major commodities including industry trends, economic factors, and key suppliers in these commodities.
- Evaluate supply chain needs proactively with the program through the review of forecasts and the identification of potential sources for strategic sourcing considerations.
- Represent Supply Chain in proposal gate reviews for prime proposal capture and submission in accordance with company delegation of authority.
- Intercept front end business opportunities to enable optimized down stream supply chain performance. This includes, but not limited to, early integration on proposals (in coordination with Strategic Sourcing/Material Estimating), drive program accountability, mitigate requisition compression for requirements, and advocate for supply chain with the program team.
- Support the Supply Chain organization executing discrete continuous improvement efforts as identified.
- Analyze statistical data to evaluate supplier performance. Develop and implement strategies for risk mitigation. For known issues, support root cause corrective actions including contract management and enforcement.
- Support both internal and external audit teams, including Accounting, Textron Audit Services, DCMA and DCAA. Ensure subcontract management activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and customer requirements.
