About This Role
Textron Systems is hiring for a Mid-level Electrical Engineer to support our Test Equipment Design efforts for a major Air Force program.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and document automated acceptance test equipment required for new and existing electronic products and assist with transition of this equipment to Production Test Engineering.
- Develop a set of testing requirements based on engineering design documentation and hardware.
- Develop functional test stations utilizing state of the art PXI, LAN, USB as well as legacy IEEE-488 and other instrumentation in a context of automated parametric measurements, while maintaining a modular, flexible and scalable design approach.
- Design and develop custom interfaces, system interconnections, test adapters, cables, and ancillary support equipment that maintains NIST-traceable stimulus and measurement capability.
- Develop equipment that withstands the rigors of production use; is easily maintained, calibrated, and repaired; integrates well with existing infrastructure, and leverages commonality with similar test equipment with a goal to minimize life-cycle cost.
- Perform test development activity in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
- Interface with product development teams to determine appropriate test strategy and coverage for functional requirements.
- Author process, test and calibration procedures.
- Produce clear, understandable documentation geared for all audiences.
- A wide range of responsibilities ranging from utilizing a high level system approach to standardized testing to programming low level input/output interfaces.
- Ability to lead the conduct and documentation of trade analyses.

Responsibilities:
- Electrical Engineering tasks – including (but not limited to) requirements analysis, cable design, physical systems install, test, verification, and troubleshooting systems installed in the ground vehicle.

System Architect
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Program Engineer to join our team and spearhead the development of advanced Hypersonic Systems. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire development lifecycle of cutting-edge hypersonic technologies, including development of system concepts, system architecture, system development, system test and system deployment. As the Lead Program Engineer, you will provide technical guidance, coordinate project activities, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Flight Controls Engineer
Individual is experienced in the design and modeling aspects of electro-mechanical, hydraulic actuation, and control jet flight control subsystems for use on hypersonic vehicles. Familiarity with flight dynamics and control theory analysis is desired. Ability to conduct flight dynamics and controls research on hypersonic vehicles is a plus. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and possess detailed knowledge of the following aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics and control system design and analysis areas:
· 6 DOF vehicle modeling
· Flight trajectory analysis
· Control system design
· Multi-modal control of complex flight conditions
· Numerical methods to improve trajectory analyses and system effectiveness.

Individual possesses experience in the operational, component design and subsystem interdependency aspects of hypersonic vehicle guidance, navigation, and control (GNC). Familiarity with inertial/stellar and guidance instruments and flight computer interaction is desired. Structures Engineer IV
The Flight System Structures Engineer will be responsible for validating design solutions pertaining to our integrated flight vehicle and hardware alternatives during highly detailed trade studies in the Strategic Missiles Business Line. The position requires expertise in the application and use of stress, buckling and vibration theory using MSC and Ansys mechanical-structural computer codes, knowledge of materials behavior, and the ability to transform the predicted results into actionable design improvements for structural design efficiency. The analysis techniques used, as well as the compiled results, will be summarized in detailed design analysis reports and presentations.

The candidate should have experience serving as a project lead and mentoring others and should have strong communications and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with senior management and customer representatives. Should also have experience integrating design topologies driven by Multiphysics performance dependencies in the aerodynamic, thermodynamic, structural dynamic, electrical systems, material science and design optimization for mechanical assemblies subjected to severe environments. Radar Systems Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radar System and Effectiveness Evaluation Engineer to join our team and provide critical design data to several product lines related to Reentry Vehicle technologies. In this role, you will be responsible evaluating radar and optical signatures for various observables and categorize them in terms of operating characteristic curves. Evaluation of circular or elliptical polarized radar for transmit and receive multidirectional functions will be necessary, as well as evaluation of typical force penetration effectiveness studies. Responsibilities also will include evaluating the effectiveness of radar pulse compression and selection of waveforms in the presence of clutter and model observable signatures as Gaussian variables with defined means and variances. Knowledge of electronic approaches is desirable. Flight test measurement planning and design participation with materials and design elements necessary to achieve a specified signation will be part of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate radar performance in multi-engagement environments.
- Perform data reduction on radar and optical signatures.
- Develop simulation programs to evaluate system.
- Perform planning and monitoring to ensure work scope, schedule, budget, and program metrics are well defined, maintained, and met.

- Support business line in development of strategic plans and technology roadmaps.
