About This Role
This Software Engineering role is within Textron System’s Uncrewed Land and Air Systems division. Our team is engaged in multiple cutting-edge development programs for defense applications. A strong candidate for this role will possess a history of software development for robotic/autonomous applications. Required experience includes software/hardware interface development, software integration, and a history of working in a fast-paced team environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing engineering support on both current and next generation technologies in support of our family of uncrewed ground and air products
- Our products are entire systems ranging from the vehicle platforms to their control stations
- Participating in software development of new products across all phases of the product lifecycle from concept development to lab and offsite integration and evaluation
- Estimation, requirements, design, implementation, review, testing, documentation, and release
- Taking technical leadership/ownership of software components and systems
- Integrating internal and third-party software solutions into our products
- Interfacing directly with the customer
- Collaborating with the software engineering team and other engineering disciplines to create functional systems
- Mentoring others within the team
- Performing trade studies
- Supporting onsite & offsite integration and test
- Driving process improvement
- Leading software development efforts
- Estimating, scope management, task generation/assignment, status reporting, etc.
- Drive tasks to completion independently.
- Provide technical direction to engineering staff and technicians of all disciplines as required.

About This Role
We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Welding of aluminum materials in all positions. Must be able to work from standing, sitting, lying and kneeling positions. Some work must be accomplished with the use of mirror welding.
- Climbing on and over bulkheads, up and down ladders.
- Tack welding (kneeling, standing, sitting, lying, overhead burning of steel, dragging torch line)
- Use of jacks, porta-powers and come-a longs; some of which can weigh as much as 25 lbs.
- Lifting of material and tools (jacks, porta-powers, come-a longs, etc. Also loading and unloading of parts.
- Crawling through craft on top of tees and through manholes
- Bending and twisting of your body as needed to get into different compartments.
- Operation of cranes, forklifts
- Use of power tools (gougers, skill saws, cut saws, grinders). All require two hands on tools to operate in safe manner
- Walking on tops of frames and tees (uneven walking surfaces)
- Need to be able to work with your hands.

About This Role
Textron Systems is seeking a Full time Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design focused on military applications. The candidate should possess good communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with suppliers within a multidiscipline team. The position requires experience integrating component design solutions into an overall assembly. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance.

Job Summary:
A Production Planner will develop and manage the execution of the production schedule as a result of line of balance output, taking into consideration the available capacity, material availability and program delivery commitments. A Production Planner communicates to leadership and program managers the manufacturing status, expected completion dates and production risk analysis based on internal and external supply.
Responsibilities:
• Partners with procurement, production manager, quality, engineering, and program management, and other supply chain disciplines to proactively plan, schedule, and effectively manage development, production, and aftermarket support environments.
• Manages and own the execution of items associated with their planner code, to include release of internal jobs to the factory, release of purchase requisitions, manage disruptions in the internal factory (shortages, MRB, internal and external constraints), and provides feedback to internal customers
• Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
• Monitors internal and external supply chain alignment – identifies and resolves potential constraints, maintains line of balance (build through) and purchase requests for the production or purchase of components / parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
• Plays an integral part of product Integrated Product Teams (IPT) by effectively interfacing with internal customers.
• Assists management in the development and execution of plans for assigned products to maximize scheduled on-time completion. Analyzes supply and demand data and reports to determine critical path constraints
• Manages manual demand for top/down & bottom-up releases, facilitates ECN/ECP changes and coordinates production cut-ins. Reviews excess material for possible consumption in other jobs. Creates material transfers, borrow/payback transactions and PO change requests.

Responsibilities:
The Program Manager will have responsibilities including but not limited to the following:
- Managing the financial, technical, and schedule requirements of a critical program to deliver products that are technically acceptable on-time and in a cost-effective manner.
- Applying Earned Value (EV) techniques to monitor and control the Performance Measurement Baseline.
- Performing Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities for program budget including development of budgetary baseline, review of actual costs and managing variance analysis, monthly Latest Revised Estimate (LRE) updates, Estimate At Complete (EAC) analysis, and sales forecast updates.
- Creating and maintaining resource loaded Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and developing actionable plans to ensure on-time / early completion.
- Managing program Risks & Opportunities.
- Interfacing with critical suppliers, subcontractors and Textron Systems’ internal Procurement/Subcontracts organization to communicate program updates/changes to and from the supplier.
- Coordinating formal briefs, meetings and reviews with customers and company leaders.
- Working closely with the customer’s Program Manager(s) and communicating program progress both internally and externally.
- Leading proposal generation and submittals to the customer.
- Mentor and foster new Project Management talent.

Production Planner
A Production Planner will work in the capacity of a Factory Planner, Material Planner, or Production Control Analyst depending on the business need. A Production Planner ensures that production requirements are met daily through analysis and reporting of production status, material supply/ demand alignment, and forecasting impacts. This individual will work with the management team to ensure that deadlines and schedules are met thereby preventing line stoppages and delays.
Responsibilities:
- Create, release, and update Discrete Jobs (DJs) based on analysis of Production needs, capacity, schedule, and sequencing, including regularly scheduled work and emergent requirements.
- Review material availability and perform necessary steps required to maintain schedule, including material transfers and purchase requisitions (PRs).
- Continuously review DJ start/stop dates and update as necessary.
- Plan, review and maintain production progress, to include supporting and facilitating production teams to meet daily and weekly production requirements.
- Create/maintain Production Control Boards for each craft.
- Recommend corrective action needed to maintain production schedule.
- Work closely with other departments, (i.e., Production, Warehouse, Supply Management) to manage the product flow to meet deadlines and prevent line stoppages and delays.
- Makes sure that required parts or assemblies reach the installation point at the proper time in the proper sequence and in sufficient quantity, in keeping with the schedule.
- Assess and determine reasons for delays in delivery of parts and recommends possible corrective action.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management

This position leads functional leaders across a variety of advanced manufacturing technologies to include electro-mechanical assembly, drone, hypersonic, advanced materials, and precision guided weapons systems.

- Work cross-functionally with Engineering teams to mature product for production, key test events or prototype activities.
- Drive team and process growth across Manufacturing Engineering, Planning & Production Control & Logistics to enable Manufacturing Readiness maturation.

Job Summary:
Working with cross-functional commodity teams, the Supplier Quality Engineer represents the quality function in the selection of new suppliers, qualification of new suppliers and improvement of existing suppliers. Activities include conducting supplier quality system and process assessments, identifying and executing of process improvement projects, facilitating quality improvement education within the supply base, trouble shooting for quality issues, and establishing continuous quality improvement as a way of life within supplier facilities.
Position Responsibilities:
· Conduct supplier audits to quality standards and in support of supplier selection and improvement.
· Drive effective root cause analyses and corrective action for Lycoming and its customers. Spearheads process improvement activities at supplier facilities.
· Facilitate preventative actions and supplier process control projects that improve quality of product delivered to Lycoming Engines.
· Compile and analyze data to make decisions to drive supplier quality improvement.
· Provide a clear vision of supplier quality strategy and processes for supplier teams.
