About This Role

The Senior Painter at Textron Systems will be responsible for surface preparation, applying protective and/or decorative prime, finish paint coatings, and spall liners with a high focus on quality. The Senior Painter will work independently on complex paint jobs and surface preparation and assist junior painters with guidance.  
 

Duties include but not limited to:

• Ability to determine areas of parts, assemblies, equipment and/or products to be painted, type and color of paint or other material to apply in accordance with prints, sketches, written/verbal instructions, procedures, and military/ commercial specifications.
• Knowledgeable and able to perform all surface preparation including media blasting, sanding, cleaning and masking surfaces.
• Able to set up, adjust and operate paint spraying equipment and drying ovens maintaining thickness of coating in conformance with specifications.
• Perform spray booth painting on a large variety of assemblies typically in small batch lots.
• Perform spall liner installation to include adhesive mixing and preparation
• In addition to mixing and applying various types of primers and paints the candidate will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all paint equipment, spray booth, air systems, and rail system.
• Interact with internal customers and external vendors regarding processes and products.
• Expected to practice FOD control (clean as you go)!
• Ability to follow OSHA and Textron System’s safety rules and regulations regarding protective personal equipment and performance of work tasks.

• Other duties directed by Management to support Textron Systems’ overall goals and objectives!

About This Role

In this role, the Principal Contracts Specialist shall proactively provide support to contract management and directors of a particular in administering government, international and commercial contracts. Under the direction of leadership, they will support all aspects of contract management throughout the contracting process, from pre-proposal activities through contract closure. In performing this role, the Principal Contracts Specialist will:

·       Support the review and risk analysis of solicitations and terms and conditions in coordination with your supervisor.

·       Participate in bid/no bid decisions and proposal review meetings.

·       Review cost proposals, maintain cost and pricing data records for TINA compliance, support fact-finding, DCAA audits, and negotiations.

·       Proactively administer a variety of contracts (government/commercial, domestic/international) of all types (cost reimbursement, fixed price, incentive, award fee, IDIQ, time and material, etc.) and modifications thereto. 

·       Prepare and coordinate business correspondence, generate required contract-related reports, and maintain accurate and complete contract files and records for the company.

·       Remain actively engaged with (and serve as an integral member of) designated program teams and develop strong interfaces with personnel in other functional areas. 

·       Participate in program reviews, monitor program performance (contract schedules, deliverables, funding, invoicing, and payments), and notify contract managers or directors of potential non-compliances or other problems that could have an adverse impact on the company. 

·       Identify and administer contract changes and coordinate resolution of contract issues with your supervisors.

·       Actively administer the closeout of completed contracts.

·       Ensure contract management activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and customer requirements.

·       Ensure coordination with Legal on contract matters that may have legal significance (such as, identifying to Legal non-standard or potentially high-risk terms and conditions) prior to advising management of contractual risks, rights and obligations, and terms and conditions interpretations.

Job Summary

Textron Systems is seeking an experienced Electrical/Mechanical Sourcing Engineer focused on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly as part of the Strategic Outsourcing Strategy. The focus will be engagement with the internal customers to support the development of business opportunities, collaborate with Strategic Sourcing Managers to provide an effective, stable, and successful roadmap for Partnerships and Suppliers for Supply Chain. This individual will be responsible for providing engineering input (technical producibility/DFX, evaluations, assessments, etc.) to support new product development with internal customers, building and acting as the critical conduit to set up the supply base and with the goal to mature the manufacturing readiness. The Senior Sourcing Engineer will identify, build, manage and maintain capable supplier sources, and grow their network and knowledge. They will drive the optimization of design for supplier manufacturability, design for supplier assembly, outsourcing design to cost & quality, and further support prototyping validation/readiness leading to a successful product roadmap for stable transition to production. Responsibilities will also include the collaboration and integration of the outsourcing strategy with other roles within the Supply Chain and Operations Team and demonstrate Sourcing Engineering value in the establishment of suppliers. The Senior Sourcing Engineer will support upstream activities, such as Bill of Material (BOM) development, Plan for every Part initiative (PFEP), inclusion of emerging manufacturing technologies, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), cost validation & estimating. The Senior Sourcing Engineer will work closely with Design Engineering Team/IPT, Engineering Prototype and Test Teams, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to help complete initial prototype builds, analyze supplier results, and act as the  technical focal for supplier management.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Collaborate with Sourcing Management and with internal customers (Business Development, Programs, Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.) and provide technical outsourcing recommendations that will support the maturation of business opportunities and program development goals.

·       Foster relationships & team positive and engaging attitude while interacting with a diverse and multi-functional workforce during highly paced project development challenges.

·       Participate and provide outsourcing technical recommendations during design conceptual reviews.

·       Perform outsourcing product & process alignment of technical requirements with all stakeholders

·       Identify supplier selection criteria and perform down-selection/trade studies with internal stakeholders.

·       Support the development of technical documentation and requirements (specifications, statements of work, etc.) leading to timely release of information to the supply base.

·       Facilitate supplier Kick-off’s - Cadence Meetings, Technical Interchange Meetings, Action Lists, Integrated Schedules, and status reporting using Standard work tools and processes.

·       When requested, provide inputs. support and review technical evaluation documentation, populate capability development documentation and participate in Design Reviews (TRR, TIM, PDR, CDR, etc.).

·       Collaborate with Supply Chain buyers and Sub-Contract and estimating team to develop outsourcing should-cost analysis.

·       Work with preferred suppliers and internal team members to develop products and processes and make effective recommendations to optimize producibility and cost.

·       Identify and support resolution of supplier/partner gap analysis based on technical & manufacturing readiness assessments to mature the product into a smooth Transition to Production (TTP)

• Work with Supplier Development Engineers to ensure supplier quality flow-down, directives and requirements are communicated clearly and understood.

·       Perform requirements validations for capability and manufacturability, manage and perform Suppler Issue/risk assessments (DFMEA/PFMEA), and identify mitigation strategies that improve cost, schedule, and quality performance.

·       Help identify performance tracking metrics, developing standardized processes and tools for Product Readiness Reviews (PRR) for assessment analysis & tracking.

·       Collaborate supplier/part manufacturing and sourcing plans with IPT (Integrated Project Team), including Sub-contract and Buyers.

·       Identify cost savings and cost avoidance information for sourcing improvement opportunities.

·       Build, maintain and grow a database of potential supplier sources that meet performance criteria based on business mission objectives.

·       Benchmark & work with key suppliers to establish effective yield metrics and performance indicators.

·       Support execution and delivery of Supply Chain Rapid Prototyping/Procurement request process.

·       Support outsourcing of product testing, tooling, fixturing, assembly and validation

About This Role

The Uncrewed Land and Air Systems team in Hunt Valley is seeking a passionate and skilled Systems Engineer to join our team to work on innovative products in our ground robotics domain. Our team is engaged in multiple cutting-edge development programs for defense applications, and we are looking for engineers who are eager to apply a diverse set of technologies and skills to create indispensable robotic solutions. This interdisciplinary role involves supporting the full life cycle development of our products, including new product development, product upgrades, payload design, integration and test, and fielding solutions for military and commercial customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, and working successfully within a collaborative team environment. A strong desire to take ownership of design efforts to ensure the integration of new technology into our vehicles is essential.

Responsibilities:

•    Engineering Design and Development:
o    Lead full-lifecycle engineering design and development activities on established and disruptive new products.
o    Work across engineering disciplines to develop conceptual designs that solve complex problems.
o    Perform requirements analysis and derivation to understand customer needs.
o    Develop architecture models utilizing SysML to support requirements development and derivation.
o    Use requirements management and test tools to decompose program requirements.
•    Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE):
o    Develop and maintain system models using MBSE methodologies and tools.
o    Utilize SysML for creating and managing system architecture models.
o    Integrate MBSE practices into the overall systems engineering process to improve design, analysis, and verification activities.
o    Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure MBSE models accurately represent system requirements and design.
•    Systems Integration and Testing:
o    Lead hands-on integration of components and subsystems into Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) and/or Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs).
o    Develop integration test plans and procedures to verify product integration.
o    Perform analysis of data extracted from testing.
o    Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against their requirements.
•    Collaboration and Communication:
o    Prepare and present systems engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews.
o    Interact daily with technical leads, program managers, planners, technicians, and other engineers.
o    Collaborate with others within the workgroup, with other departments, and with customers.
•    Project Management and Technical Direction:
o    Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations.
o    Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems.
o    Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s)
o    Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
