Textron Systems is seeking a Full time Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design focused on military applications. The candidate should possess good communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with suppliers within a multidiscipline team. The position requires experience integrating component design solutions into an overall assembly. About This Role
This position is a multi-faceted security position, responsible for day-to-day oversight of security compliance for the collateral program portfolio as well as intermittent support for special programs security. The incumbent will adhere to the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), 32 CFR Part 117, DoDM 5205.07 V1-4, ICDs as well as program related manuals as a part of a team that oversees the day-to-day security operations within the classified environment(s).

About This Role
This position will serve as on-site crewmember in support of deployed (OCONUS) UAS flight operations. Duties will include aircraft/sensor operations, mission coordinator activities, maintenance, and logistical tasks in support of the Aerosonde Mk 4.7 UAS system. Perform as a Subject Matter Expert on all aspects of UAS operations. Participate in daily flight operations, site stand-ups and interface with customers. Additional duties will include emplacement, displacement, inspection, and repair of associated equipment as well as proper notation of logbooks and flight records.
Primary duties will require extensive travel, both domestically and internationally including deployments and training exercises. Deployment locations vary between heavily populated US Coalition bases, austere forward operating bases, and other areas throughout the world.
Responsibilities
· Operational support of deployed flight operations
· Perform as a deployed Aerosonde UAS Crewmember
· Travel and deploy worldwide with Domestic and Foreign Militaries as well as Domestic and International Customers as required
· Direct interface with military customers
· Work in groups or independently with minimal or no supervision
· Will be required to work odd shifts, weekends, and/or extended hours

Physical Requirements:
Flight crews are required to complete crew chief and maintenance qualification activities. These qualifications require the ability to lift the aircraft as a two-person lift, approximately 40-50lbs per person. Crewmember must be able to walk with the aircraft and load onto the launcher. Following loading the aircraft, crewmember must perform preflight launch items that may take up to or more than 30-45 minutes of standing and maneuvering around the launcher system. Outside of launch/recovery operations, crewmember responsibilities may include inventory management activities and must be able to perform physical work requirements during a 12 to 14-hour shift in a deployed environment. Deployed temperatures range from -10ºF to 115ºF dependent on the locations and seasons. This position is also subject to the below physical requirements-
Deployment conditions may include, but not limited to:
· Deployed in austere environments for 6-9 months of the year
· 12-14 hour work shifts 7 days per week for duration of deployment.
Inventory and maintenance management activities to include but not limited to:
· Rotating Launch/recovery trailer
· Replacing launcher material up to two-man lifts of 150+lbs
· Maneuvering aircraft within maintenance hangar
· Organizing inventory
o Loading and palletizing materials onto air force 365L pallets utilizing tri-walls
o Moving inventory and materials from the shelf to the maintenance hangar

- Set up and utilize radiographic testing equipment.
- Actively participate in radiation safety Programs.
- Ensure the work or radiation area is controlled.
- Calibrate radiographic testing equipment as required.
- Conduct radiographic tests to ensure quality or detection of discontinuities.
- Establish techniques for proper examination of welds under inspection while ensuring strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
- Interpret radiographs.
- Organize and report test results.
- Complete, maintain and/or submit daily radiation reports for management review, as required.
- Perform specialized inspections as required.
- Must train and/or provide direction to current, new or lower-level employees including leading a group, as required.

This individual will oversee tooling management, support machinists and design engineers in manufacturability reviews, and drive continuous improvement in machining processes and workflow. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a strong understanding of machining operations, tooling compliance, and production optimization in a high-reliability manufacturing environment.

• Serve as the primary engineering interface for the machine shop: Support both prototype and full-rate production programs.

About This Role
Textron Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer or Electrical/Mechanical Engineer focused on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly and product transition to production within the development phase of the product life cycle to join our team. This individual will be responsible for providing manufacturing engineering input to support new product development, and to optimize design for manufacturability, design for assembly, design to cost, and transition to production. This individual will work alongside the design engineering team during the preliminary development phases of emerging programs to analyze and improve manufacturing cost, quality, and DFX. Responsibilities will also include other upstream activities such as capital equipment, facility requirements, existing and emerging manufacturing technologies, tool design, cost estimating, and configuration control. This individual will work closely with Design Engineering, Engineering Prototype Technicians, Manufacturing Engineers, Machinists, and Assembly Technicians to complete initial prototype builds, analyze results, and refine engineering designs.
Our Manufacturing Engineering team is focused on developing and improving new product designs to incorporate all necessary cost, quality, and DFX improvements to support advanced emerging programs for military, government, and commercial customers.
Job Responsibilities:
• Provide manufacturing engineering input to support new product development, from initial conceptual design to the transition-to-production phase.
• Perform design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and design to cost analyses during the preliminary development phase of emerging programs and drive changes early in product development to improve manufacturability
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Engineering Prototype Technicians, Machinists, Assembly Technicians, and other Manufacturing Engineers to provide a clear line of communication between design and manufacturing.
• Participate in tabletop design reviews and formal CCB reviews.

• Electrical and/or Mechanical Systems – New Product Introduction including fixture design, prove out, development of manufacturing processes, tool integration, equipment, and product verification.
• Knowledge of DFX principles, specifically: Manufacturability, Assembly, Testability, Reliability, Cost and Quality.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and appropriate tolerance methodology with Model Based Definition files in a manufacturing environment.
