Summary

  • Textron Systems’ TSUNAMI® uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) are designed to provide the U.S. and allied nations with enhanced intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) mission capability, search-and-rescue and counter-narcotics operations.
  • The TSUNAMI USVs leverage over six decades of autonomy integration expertise with Brunswick Corporation’s commercial boat-building capacity to deliver at speed and scale.
  • The TSUNAMI USVs are intended to give the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security and international allies and agencies a maritime autonomy asset they can field and trust quickly.

Leveraging Experience and Commercial Manufacturing Capacity

Textron Systems combines more than six decades of autonomy integration experience with Brunswick Corporation’s global boat‑building power to deliver TSUNAMI vessels at speed and scale. By leveraging Brunswick’s mature manufacturing, propulsion systems and worldwide production footprint alongside Textron Systems’ proven autonomous technology, TSUNAMI craft can be rapidly deployed at scale. This approach directly aligns with the U.S. government’s call for defense and commercial industry to collaborate for faster delivery, broader production capacity and greater affordability.

Range of Craft to Support the Mission

The TSUNAMI family of vehicles feature rugged, U.S.-built Boston Whaler hulls and Mercury engines and span multiple sizes:

  • 21 ft.
  • 25 ft.
  • 28 ft.
  • 33 ft
  • 38 ft.
  • 42 ft.

Textron Systems also provides engine kits to retrofit existing craft or custom hulls.

The craft can support a wide range of missions including:

  • ISR
  • search‑and‑rescue
  • counter‑narcotics operations

Craft come standard with:

  • electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) cameras
  • maritime radar
  • line-of-sight/beyond-line-of-sight (LOS/BLOS) communications for persistent surveillance

The durability of the partnered Brunswick hull gives it the asymmetric advantage of staying out at sea for long durations. This enhances the warfighter’s maritime domain awareness and develops a pattern of life with minimal break in coverage.

Textron Systems has invested in modular payload integration for the TSUNAMI system, including a variety of sensors and weapon systems. This provides flexibility and adaptability to suit any mission; for example, Textron Systems recently demonstrated the TSUNAMI USV’s ability to successfully engage a designated surface target with kinetic fires by integrating a surface launcher into the hull.

Rapid production, global scalability and modular design make the TSUNAMI USV a practical, affordable asset for customers who need capability delivered fast and ready for immediate deployment. Together with Brunswick, Textron Systems has created a mission-ready USV designed for today’s complex world.
