TSUNAMI®

Attritable, Rapidly Deployable, Autonomous Maritime Solution

TSUNAMI

Overview

The new TSUNAMI® family of autonomous maritime surface vessels harnesses Textron Systems' over six decades of multi-domain advanced autonomy integration experience with the capacity and maturity of the U.S. commercial shipbuilding industry to deliver a scalable, innovative solution at mass production. In response to the Navy’s increased interest in small, low-cost, rapidly deployable Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV) that can support a variety of missions, we saw an opportunity to create an affordable, versatile and efficient maritime solution that meets these requirements.

To bring the TSUNAMI USV to life, we partnered with Brunswick Corporation, a global leader in recreational watercraft and propulsion solutions. By combining Brunswick’s portfolio of reliable, high-performance vessels, propulsions, control systems, and manufacturing capacity with our mature autonomy technology, we were able to develop an extremely affordable, rapidly deployable, modular open systems architecture (MOSA)-oriented solution that meets the needs of our customers on an unparalleled scale.

Our collaborative relationship with Brunswick has been crucial to the success of the TSUNAMI vessel, with each of our engineering personnel working closely to ensure seamless integration of our autonomy technology into the vessels. The TSUNAMI vessel is designed with scalability at its core, offering a wide range of variants to meet diverse mission requirements. Brunswick’s vertical integration business model has allowed us to mitigate supply chain issues and execute an efficient product development process, enabling the TSUNAMI autonomous vessel to be mass-produced at scale without compromising quality or performance.

With the TSUNAMI vessel, Textron Systems and Brunswick Corporation have created a cutting-edge autonomous maritime solution that is ready for deployment and capable of supporting a variety of missions. We are proud to offer this innovative product to our customers and look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of small uncrewed surface vehicles in the maritime space.
