The Systems Engineering Manager will develop and lead the Sea Systems Engineering team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The manager will drive System Engineering standards, processes, and procedures. The Systems Engineering team primary focus is the specification and oversight of third-party developed control and communications systems into marine craft. The team also executes or oversees requirements development and management, Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS), and Reliability Availability and Maintainability (RAM) modeling.
Responsibilities

Textron Systems is hiring a highly skilled and experienced embedded software engineer to join our team and serve as a software architect and developer. The candidate will assist the lead software engineer with the planning, designing, and oversight of the implementation and test of embedded software systems throughout the full software development lifecycle. The candidate will work closely with the software test lead as well to ensure proper verification of software requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software design and architecture of embedded software systems, as well as experience with software documentation that conform to Data Item Descriptions (DIDs).
The team’s goal is to create scalable and optimized software systems for defense applications to support modernization efforts for the US military. While the candidate’s primary focus will be the architecture and design, the candidate will be responsible for software peer reviews and implementation tasks. Textron systems is developing highly complex systems using microprocessor, ARM, and/or DSP architectures where some aspects are safety critical. The candidate must be able to work independently on individual assigned tasks and well as collaborate with software, systems, safety, and electrical lead engineering team members throughout the project. The candidate must have a good understanding of electrical design and how it affects the software design. The candidate must be able to interpret schematics and be able to understand how electrical components interact and affect the software implementation. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Leading the development of 1 or more of the CSCIs within the program’s overall system software plan
- Capture and document the software design in a clear and concise manner in UML using system model-based tools such as Magic Draw.
- Implement unit testing of software features and integrate into a CI/CD pipeline
- Lead software assurance efforts
- Coordinate the authoring and revisioning of CDRLs in accordance with DFARS software documentation requirements using DIDs format.
- Prepare presentations to the customer on the software design and architecture for embedded systems.

This individual will work as part of a multidisciplined design engineering team during the development phase of an emerging program. The individual should be fluent in the VHDL code techniques. The individual will be responsible for developing new FPGA designs with an emphasis on simulation and verification, and the transition of those designs into ASICs.. Our Design Engineering team is focused on developing and improving new product designs to support advanced emerging programs for military customers.
Responsibilities
· Design, prototype, and develop FPGA systems, including RTL design and coding, simulation, modeling, test bench verification, and IP block integration.
· Develop HDL code from evolving System Requirements with minimum oversight.
· Collaborate with PCB designers to support FPGA connectivity and functionality.

The Sea Systems team is seeking highly qualified candidates to function as a Lead Systems Engineer supporting our CUSV product development initiatives and our contract programs. The strong candidate will possess a broad knowledge base in multiple engineering disciplines and be able to execute in both R&D and production environments. Required experience includes hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, overseeing technical execution of engineering projects, and successfully working within a collaborative team environment. Lead Systems Engineer roles and responsibilities include:
- Lead full-life cycle engineering design and development activities for the CUSV platform.
- Lead and/or perform requirements analysis, systems modeling (SYSML), trade studies, requirements derivation, design review support, integration planning, test, verification, risk management, and engineering analysis.
- Development of systems architectures and concepts of operations.

Textron Systems is hiring for a Mid-level Electrical Engineer to support our Test Equipment Design efforts for a major Air Force program.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and document automated acceptance test equipment required for new and existing electronic products and assist with transition of this equipment to Production Test Engineering.
- Develop a set of testing requirements based on engineering design documentation and hardware.
- Develop functional test stations utilizing state of the art PXI, LAN, USB as well as legacy IEEE-488 and other instrumentation in a context of automated parametric measurements, while maintaining a modular, flexible and scalable design approach.
- Design and develop custom interfaces, system interconnections, test adapters, cables, and ancillary support equipment that maintains NIST-traceable stimulus and measurement capability.
