Job Title: Quality Engineer

About the Role:
At Lycoming Engines, our Quality Engineers develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure that products are manufactured to the highest standards. This position will equip the candidate with a strong background in quality engineering within the aerospace manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have experience with Six Sigma methodologies, AS9100 standards, and FAA regulatory requirements. A deep understanding of advanced quality tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Value Stream Mapping is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and FAA regulatory requirements.
· Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformances and improve product quality.
· Perform internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to ensure quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.
· Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, control plans, and quality reports.
· Utilize advanced quality tools such as Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and Value Stream Mapping to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
· Provide training and support to team members on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
· Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
· Support new product development and introduction processes to ensure quality requirements are met from concept to production.

A NDT Tech Lead leads a team of radiographers, performs calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and recording results. The selected individual will interpret welds requirements from various processes according with but not limited to Military Standard 2035, AWS Specifications, and ASME Section IV.
Responsibilities:
•Set up and utilize radiographic testing equipment.
•Actively participate in Radiation Safety Programs.
•Ensure the work or radiation area is controlled.
•Calibrate radiographic testing equipment as required.
•Conduct radiographic tests to ensure quality or detection of discontinuities.
•Establish techniques for proper examination of welds under inspection while ensuring strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.
•Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
•Interpret radiographs.
•Organize and report test results.
•Complete, maintain and/or submit daily radiation reports for management review, as required.
•Perform specialized inspections as required.
•Must train and/or provide direction to current, new or lower level employees including leading a group, as required.
•Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management.

Performs Quality Engineering assignments for the Electronic Systems domain requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard Quality Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment and ingenuity in making adaptations and modifications. Work is performed on moderately complex contracts requiring independent execution within a defined set of skills or knowledge area. The Quality Engineer supports product design activities, planning for quality, production activities, data analysis and development of metrics, root cause and corrective action, and process and product improvement.

Responsibilities:
- Reviews customer contracts on simple to moderately complex projects; responsible for requirements analysis, identification and definition.
- Performs quality planning activities including development of Quality Plan, Quality Assurance Directive and Inspection Plan documents as required by the assigned project(s).
- Interfaces with Supplier Development Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues.
- Uses knowledge of inspection tools and techniques to define inspection requirements.
- Participates in product development and design document reviews targeting DFX
- Participates in process improvement activities through monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis etc.
- Participates in Program Management activities appropriate to the assigned project(s).
- Participates in Contract Data Requirements List development, review and delivery to the customer as required by the assigned project(s).
- Assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards.
- Performs Material Review Board (MRB) disposition and tracking activities.
- Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions.
- Provides status inputs to the Cost Account Manager for tasks performed. May perform CAM function for small to medium projects.
- Performs QA estimating for small to medium, less complex projects.
