Supporting Our Communities in the Fight Against COVID-19

April 20, 2020

During this unprecedented time, Textron Systems is committed to helping our local communities. National shortages of Personal Proactive Equipment (PPE) and cleaning supplies has put immense pressure on frontline businesses and workers, taking the focus away from staying safe and providing care during this outbreak. To combat these shortages and support our frontline workers, Textron Systems has donated masks and other essential supplies to police stations, fire departments, urgent care facilities, hospitals and more.

Our Louisiana locations donated 40 N95 masks to the Slidell Police Department, 40 N95 masks to the St. Tammy Fire Department, 40 N95 masks to the Remedy Room in New Orleans, 40 N95 masks to the New Orleans East Hospital, 160 N95 masks to the Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans and 120 N95 masks to the Slidell Memorial Hospital.

Lycoming Engines donated 100 disposable masks and 36 pairs of safety glasses to a local medical screening and testing facility.

The Maryland team provided roughly 340 gallons of surface disinfectant to a neighboring supplier, SAFT Batteries.

The Virginia facility donated 300 N95 masks to Centra Urgent Care.

TRU Simulation & Training in South Carolina donated 100 N95 masks and hand sanitizer to Goose Creek Police Department. In addition, the team donated 100 N95 masks and hand sanitizer to Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

Our Massachusetts location donated 60 N95 masks, 50 dust masks and 80 arm garters to the Winchester Hospital.

As the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic continues, Textron Systems employees continue to develop innovative ways to support our frontline workers. We understand the importance of helping our community and supporting the brave individuals who are doing their best to keep us safe during this time. Our company plans to continue evaluating community and hospital support opportunities.
