Brayden’s Story: Education Assistance at TS

Education Assistance Through Textron

Tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of our employees, the Education Assistance program provides support to help employees achieve their educational goals. From tuition reimbursement to scholarships and training programs, we are committed to our team’s growth. Whether they’re looking to earn a degree, acquire new skills or advance in their career, this program gives them the chance to do it in a timely manner with incredible reimbursement incentives — up to $8,000 for undergraduate programs and $10,000 for graduate programs every calendar year.

Don’t just take our word for it. Ask Brayden, a Marketing and Communications Specialist who recently completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in marketing at West Texas A&M University.

“I continued my education for my MBA immediately after finishing my undergrad when I started full-time,” said Brayden. “I knew coming in that what you learn in undergrad isn't always going to make you the best option for your position. That comes from experience. Being able to apply knowledge learned in my MBA program directly to my job as I was learning it was what appealed to me. It helped me further understand the lessons my professors were teaching and use them directly in the field. I wanted to make sure that I was going to be best fit for any role or task that may come my way, and I didn't want to pass up on the opportunity to have it covered by Textron Systems through the Education Assistance program.”

“The relief that comes from eliminating financial factors is invaluable. I wasn’t stressing about paying for school, which made me more engaged, and I was able to enjoy the education.”

Brayden lauded the process for receiving the reimbursement, as well, further crediting the Education Assistance program. “The reimbursement process couldn't have been easier. I'd submit my payment receipt and get the reimbursement usually within a week's time. After the class [was finished], I'd submit my updated transcript, and the case would be approved in just a couple of days. It was well worth the time!”

Investing in Your Future Today

Whether it’s the cost of tuition, cost of books, fees for registration, laboratory expenses or administrative fees, if it’s approved by your manager and within your yearly stipend amount, employees can be covered. Even College Level Equivalency Programs (CLEP) can qualify, so long as they are also approved by the employee’s manager prior to enrollment.

“Through the Education Assistance program, I had the support and encouragement to develop skills and knowledge that make me a much more valuable employee within my role,” Brayden said. “In addition to that, I’m more aware of how other facets of the business impact my role, and I’m able to identify optimal channels I can use for better project results.”
