Aerosonde® Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS) Successfully Demonstrates TASE400 Laser Designator

On October 17, 2018, Textron Systems’ Aerosonde SUAS successfully demonstrated the Collins Aerospace TASE400 LD Imaging System at Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona.

With its optimized size, weight and power profile, the TASE400 LD is the latest payload whose integration Textron Systems has leveraged in support of current and future customers.

Textron Systems Senior Vice President & General Manager David Phillips says, “The Aerosonde platform offers many advanced features that allow customers to accomplish a variety of missions in some of the toughest environments. This includes a small footprint, a mature JP-8 compatible engine and Link 16 capabilities. The Aerosonde SUAS, which has more than 300,000 flight hours of land- and sea-based experience, also features 96 hours of capability on a single 463L pallet, 200 watts of available payload power, internal CH-47 transport, distributed manned/unmanned team capability, deployable in 20 minutes or less, as well as reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition capabilities.

Textron Systems also recently received a competitive, multiple year award from the U.S. Air Force for contractor-owned, contractor-operated Aerosonde SUAS ISR operations.
