About This Role
A Day in the Life of a Mechanical Engineer I:
- Providing creative solutions to mechanical engineering design challenges
- Working in an interdisciplinary role, collaborating with peer engineers of varying disciplines.
- Solid modeling via NX and Solidworks.
- Design capture and configuration management via PLM systems.
- Learning how to create professional engineering drawings for manufacturing per industry ASME standards.
- Producing designs that leverage common fabrication and assembly processes while working with internal machine shops to manufacture parts on site.
- Creating structural designs by leveraging theory and analysis tools.
- Analysis and design of tracked vehicle of varying weight classes.
- Engine and generator integration into hybrid electric platforms.
- Operation of measurement tools, strain gages, and data acquisition systems
- Documenting and presenting derived requirements, designs, analysis results, etc.

About This Role
A Day in the Life of an Electrical Engineering Co-Op:
As an electrical engineering co-op, you will perform a variety of assignments including conceptual design, engineering analysis, detailed sub-system electrical design, integration, test, and manufacturing and field support. A strong candidate will possess a broad range of engineering skills and could perform as an individual contributor or as a team lead. You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-functional team environment with a diverse array of exciting technologies and products that directly support our nation’s war fighters.?
Perform detailed design of electrical and electronic assemblies.?
Perform analysis, integration, and testing.?
Contribute to concept development as part of internal cross-functional design teams, including prototyping and production support.?
Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings, presentations, specifications, design presentations to customers, test plans, and test reports.?
Support proposal activity, providing input to cost estimates and risk assessments.?

About This Role
We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:
Performing mechanical properties testing
Evaluation of in-house heat-treated parts
Assisting with failure analysis projects
Checking incoming parts for metallurgical conformance
Evaluating microstructures of steel, aluminum, and other materials
Assisting in monitoring of plating and cleaning solutions (wet chemistry)
Documenting test and evaluation results
Communicating with engineers, mentor, and internal customers in regard to materials investigations

About This Role

Perform a variety of engineering assignments related to new product development and/or enhancement of existing products
Creation and maintenance of engine bill of materials (BOM)
Review engineering changes / revisions to both engineering procedures and drawings
Create and execute engineering change orders (ECOs) using PLM software
Consult with customers on designs and specifications
Assist ODA group with FAA certification effort
Coordinate activities with Director, Configuration Management and Regulations to ensure business and development goals will be achieved?
May be required to interface with suppliers

About This Role
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Performing quality planning activities including development of Quality Plan, Quality Assurance Directive and Inspection Plan documents as required by the assigned project(s).
Reviewing customer contracts; responsible for requirements analysis, identification and definition
Interfaces with Supplier Quality Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues
Uses knowledge of inspection tools and techniques to define inspection requirements
Participates in process improvement activities through monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis
Participates in design document reviews and assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards
Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions.
