About This Role
Textron Systems is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to support the design, integration, and lifecycle development of mechanical systems for uncrewed air and land platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience creating robust mechanical solutions for ruggedized autonomous systems, including chassis structures, mobility subsystems, airframe components, payload integration, and environmentally hardened enclosures. This role requires strong communication skills, regular collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and the ability to balance rapid prototyping needs with long-term production readiness. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical designs for air and ground vehicle structures, payload mounts, enclosures, and actuation subsystems that support autonomous vehicles.
- Create complete Technical Data Packages, including 3D models, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials, for both prototype and production hardware.
- Produce and review high-quality mechanical and electromechanical assembly drawings that support manufacturing, testing, and sustainment activities.

About This Role
The Uncrewed Air and Land Systems team in Hunt Valley is seeking a motivated, self-driven, and organized Project Engineer to join our growing group, working on innovative products within the air and ground robotics domains.
This interdisciplinary role involves supporting the full life cycle development of our products, including new product development, product upgrades, payload design, integration and test, and fielding solutions for military and commercial customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, and working successfully within a collaborative team environment. A strong desire to take ownership of design efforts to ensure the integration of new technology into our vehicles is essential.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Program Management to tightly control program schedule and budget
- Resolve schedule, resource, and technical conflicts
- Navigate and lead multidiscipline teams through unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions
- Collaborate with functional managers to organize and delegate key tasks
- Act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
- Chair (or delegate) responsibilities to execute change control boards for your project /product
- Assess risk and approve Test Readiness Reviews
- Develop discretionary funding plans and requests outlining program needs for successful execution
- Provide recommendations to senior management regarding critical risk acceptance
- Develop proposals (cost and technical) and basis of estimates for new business opportunities
- Manage and control system configurations and bills of materials
- Development and delivery of program technical CDRLs

Responsibilities:
- Engineering Design and Development:
- Lead full-lifecycle engineering design and development activities on established and disruptive new products.
- Work across engineering disciplines to develop conceptual designs that solve complex problems.
- Perform requirements analysis and derivation to understand customer needs.
- Develop architecture models utilizing SysML to support requirements development and derivation.
- Use requirements management and test tools to decompose program requirements.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE):
- Develop and maintain system models using MBSE methodologies and tools.
- Utilize SysML for creating and managing system architecture models.
- Integrate MBSE practices into the overall systems engineering process to improve design, analysis, and verification activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure MBSE models accurately represent system requirements and design.
- Systems Integration and Testing:
- Lead hands-on integration of components and subsystems into Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) and/or Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs).
- Develop integration test plans and procedures to verify product integration.
- Perform analysis of data extracted from testing.
- Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against their requirements.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Prepare and present systems engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews.
- Interact daily with technical leads, program managers, planners, technicians, and other engineers.
- Collaborate with others within the workgroup, with other departments, and with customers.
- Project Management and Technical Direction:
- Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations.

We are seeking a mid-level Autonomy Engineer to help develop and integrate autonomous capabilities for defense systems operating across air, land, maritime, and weapons domains to include multi-domain environments. This role is well suited to an engineer who combines practical system and project execution experience with a strong interest in the technologies that enable intelligent, mission-focused behavior.
As an Autonomy Engineer, you will help turn mission needs and operational concepts into implementable autonomy designs.
