The commodity ALUMINUM includes raw aluminum stock. This can be I-beams, sheets, tubes, etc.
The commodity BRASS includes raw Brass stock. This can be I beams, sheets, tubes, etc.
The commodity BRONZE includes raw Bronze stock. This can be I beams, sheets, tubes, etc.
The commodity COPPER includes raw copper stock. This can be I-beams, sheets, tubes, etc.
The commodity STEEL includes raw material steel stock.  This can be I beams, sheets, tubes, etc. No machined, fabricated, or any type of processed component or assembly should be included in this commodity.
The commodity METAL - OTHER includes metallic raw material that isn't steel, aluminum, bronze, copper, brass, or titanium.
The commodity TITANIUM includes raw material Titanium stock.  This can be I beams, sheets, tubes, etc.

The commodity INSULATION, THERMAL includes raw material thermal insulation stock such as raw foam, raw minerals, and raw cork. INSULATION, THERMAL is not meant for thermal insulation material that has been processed into other parts or parts that use thermal insulation material as a component.

The commodity BEARING includes bearings only. Examples include ball bearings, roller bearings, sleeve bearings, and any other types of bearings.

The commodity ADDITIVE MANUFACTURE is meant for the custom fabrication of metal and non-metal parts or components that are made from 3D Printing processes such as Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), and Binder Jetting. This commodity may include off the shelf filaments and spools.
The commodity CABLE ASSY HARNESS MECHANICAL includes off the shelf cables and custom fabrication with a primary mechanical function. These are cables that do not have electrical, RF, or any current running through them. Winch lines, hoist systems, straps, etc.
The commodity CASTINGS & FORGINGS includes custom manufacture of metallic components that may require post machining or finishing.
The commodity GEAR is meant for custom-fabricated gears in relation to mechanical systems as components of power and drive trains.
The commodity HINGE is includes custom-fabricated hinge parts used in mechanical fabrication assemblies.
The commodity HEAT TREATING includes custom fabrication of metal parts that are heat treated.

The commodity MACHINING includes custom-fabricated parts that have been milled, turned, mill-turned, drilled, reamed, grinded, etc from blocks of metal. Machining is not to include fully assembled mechanical assemblies or sheet metal fabrications.
The commodity MOLDING includes custom-fabricated parts processed through all types of molding such as injection, vacuum, drape forming, thermoforming, over molding, compression, blow molding and rotational molding.
The commodity OPTIC includes custom-fabricated optical lenses, mirrors, coatings, light-reflecting/focusing/diverging devices, and optical components/assemblies.
The commodity OVF (Outside Vendor Finishing) includes custom-fabricated parts that are in the finishing stages of fabrication. This includes coating and repair services.

The commodity HYDRO/PNEUMATIC includes custom-fabricated hydraulic pumps and hydraulic assemblies, components of fluidic systems. Items included are hoses and tubing used to facilitate the flow of hydraulic fluid or gasses.
The commodity HEATER includes mechanical systems/custom fabricated systems used for heating and cooling. This includes HVAC units, ducting to move substances for heating and cooling purposes, and heat producing hardware.

The commodity COMPOSITE BONDED ASSY includes fabricated components that comprise of a mixture of raw materials (communally of various types) that are bonded together with resins or adhesives, Includes RTM, VARTM, Filament Winding, Pultrusion, Thick Laminates. Fiber Placement, etc.
The commodity COMPOSITES is meant only for raw composites stock. This can be carbon fiber, fiberglass, kevlar, nylon, etc. No manufactured, fabricated, or any type of part using composites as a component should be included in this commodity. Part numbers are to be structured based on our raw material part number scheme that describes the dimensions, grade, and shape/formation of the composite. 
The commodity MECH ASSY includes custom fabricated, primarily mechanical, assemblies. MECH ASSY is not to include assemblies that are primarily electrical, or sole components of mechanical assemblies.
The commodity WELDED ASSY includes custom fabrication of metallic parts or raw material that are welded together. This includes MIG, TIG, Friction Stir Welding, and Laser welding, and other Fusion joining processes.
