Ryan Schaffernocker is Senior Vice President of Textron Systems’ Air, Land and Sea Systems business, as well as a member of the Textron Systems Executive Leadership Team. In this role, Ryan sets the strategic path for our air, land and sea focused business and leads the capture and execution of key programs. This business designs, builds and supports advanced, multi-domain uncrewed systems, autonomy focused control systems and ground vehicle systems with a concentration on engineering state-of-the-art capabilities. These products are used by the U.S. and allied nations, as well as civilian entities around the globe.
Prior to assuming his current position, Ryan served as the Senior Vice President for the Marine Systems business at Textron Systems. In this role, Ryan led execution of Textron Systems' Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC) program of record for the U.S. Navy, which is manufactured at the company's New Orleans, Louisiana shipyard. Previously, Ryan was Vice President, Sea Systems, and Shipyard Site Lead for Textron Systems. In this role Ryan had responsibility for the SSC program as well as Textron Systems’ family of Unmanned Surface Vessel programs. Ryan had overall Sea business line responsibility including cost and schedule execution and acquisition of new business.
Prior to transitioning to the Shipyard, Ryan served as Vice President, Program Management and Vice President, Operations Engineering for Lycoming Engines. A sister division within Textron Systems, Lycoming Engines provides propulsion solutions for General Aviation and Unmanned Aircraft, from their headquarters in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Prior to transferring to Textron Systems, Ryan served as Plant Manager for the Textron Tools & Test Business Unit in Rockford, Illinois, and Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Vista, California.
Ryan was sponsored by Textron and completed the Executive Leadership Program at the University of North Carolina, the Senior Executive Leadership Development Program at Duke University, and the Executive Alliance Program at the University of North Carolina.
Prior to joining Textron, Ryan served in various manufacturing leadership and project management roles with Rockwell Automation. During this time, he earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification while managing the startup of a greenfield manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Mexico.
Ryan earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from The Ohio State University.
