The Landing Craft, Air Cushion

The Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) is a high-speed, over-the-beach, fully amphibious landing craft capable of traversing snow, marsh, ice, tundra and sand. On missions ranging from transporting cargo to minesweeping, the LCAC is designed to function in extreme conditions from Arctic cold to Sahara heat. The LCAC will operate well into the 21st century with improved performance and increased life span due to a Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) that extends service life from 20 to 30 years.
