These include military vehicle rocket-propelled grenade protection systems, space travel re-entry systems using our proprietary specialty materials, and highly adaptive nuclear/radiation detection systems for multiple applications.

We design, manufacture and support military and commercial specialty marine craft used in various countries around the globe. Our advanced marine technologies range from air cushion marine craft to surface-effect ships.

 


Piston Engines


Our piston engines are known and trusted by the general aviation community around the world. In fact, we produced the world’s first aerobatic piston engine certified by the Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA. We support our customers through a robust network of sales, service, spares and technical support.

 


Advanced Programs


Anticipating and addressing future needs ― Textron Systems harnesses the power of its innovative technologies and talented, experienced employees on continuous development of next-generation technologies.

For example, our Lightweight Small Arms Technologies include a light machine gun and carbine rifle variant. We have successfully developed and demonstrated a prototype weapon and ammunition that provide up to a 50 percent reduction in weight compared to the current assault weapon carried by infantrymen, as well as a 50 percent reduction in ammunition weight. The weapon design maintains the lethality and reliability of existing assault weapons while offering improved ergonomics.

Our Adaptable Radiation Area Monitor, or ARAM, received Government Security News’  2009 Homeland Security Award for “Best Nuclear/Radiation Detection Product.” This highly adaptive, easy-to-use technology provides comprehensive, real-time detection, fast interface with government reach-back agencies and continuous, dynamic calibration. Our ARAM technology can be utilized in fixed portal, mobile or backpack configurations.
